Crypto Wallet Security Basics

~1 min read · Last updated: 2026-07-07

A crypto wallet is the tool used to store, send, and receive digital assets. It does not hold the assets themselves so much as the keys that prove ownership and authorize transactions.

Common wallet security practices include using strong, unique passwords, enabling two-factor authentication where available, keeping recovery phrases offline and private, and being cautious of unsolicited messages asking for wallet details.

No platform or tool can guarantee protection against all security risks. Digital asset security depends heavily on the user's own practices, in addition to any safeguards a platform provides.
